Haley Carbonero, Associate Director

Mrs. Carbonero is  currently in her fifth year of teaching at Haltom High School. Before graduating college, she got the privilege of student teaching at Haltom High School with head director, Amy Allibon. Mrs. Carbonero is a graduate of Martin High School in Arlington, TX where she was a member of the Texas All-State Women's Choir. After high school she attended Texas Woman's University where she studied voice, pedagogy, and diction under Ms. Joan Wall. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and is currently a member of TMEA, TCDA, and ACDA.

Mrs. Carbonero enjoys singing and has been a past member of the Arlington Master Chorale under the direction of her high school choir director, Mr. Randy Jordan. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband, playing with her two chihuahuas, being around family and friends, exercising, and reading.
Jeremy Crozier, Director

Mr. Crozier is honored to join the staff of Haltom High School and The Voice of Haltom Choral Program for the 2012-2013 school year.  Mr. Crozier is beginning his 11th year as a choral music educator.  He previously spent 8 years as the associate director of Trintiy HS in HEBISD and 2 years as associate choral director in Plano ISD. 

He received his Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Simpson College in May of 2002.  While at Simpson he was cast in several performing roles, worked as the Undergraduate Assistant for the Simpson Department of Choral Music, and studied conducting under Dr. Robert L. Larsen.  Mr. Crozier received his Masters Degree for the University of Texas Arlington in Educational Policy Studies and Leadership in May of 2008. 

Choir under his direction have consistently earned sweepstakes awards at UIL and have been awarded "Best in Class" at various competitions throughout the United States.  He currently holds the office of Vocal Division Chair for the TMEA Region 5.  He previously served TMEA Region V in the offices of  Treasurer and Chair-Elect.

Mr. Crozier is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, Texas Choral Directors Association, Texas Music Educators Association, Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Mu Alpha, and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association.

Shirley Johnson, Private Voice Instructor

Shirley Johnson has been teaching private voice in the Birdville Independent School district for twenty five years.  The past twenty one have been at Haltom High School.  She is kept quite busy by privately teaching over fifty students each week.  Her students are consistently successful in solo competition, musicals, as well as acheiving membership in the Texas All State Choir.

Mrs. Johnson graduated cum laude from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree and has completed post-bachelor work in Vocal Pedagogy with Joan Wall at Texas Woman's University.  She is currently a member of TMEA and TCDA. She has sung extensively in the metroplex with such groups as the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Chorus, The Fort Worth Renaissance Consort, and the Fort Worth Opera Chorus as well as being a soloist in churches in the area.  She is the choir director at Christ the King Episcopal Church in Fort Worth, having served in this capacity for twenty years.

When she is not teaching, she enjoys time with her husband, step-daughters, friends, and two cats.  She loves to read and exercise, not at the same time.
